Some writers create characters that are awful pieces of work and it doesn't make sense for such pits of filth or misery to say "fiddlesticks" instead of something inordinately nasty or politically incorrect because this Warrick fellow certainly is quite a piece of work.

Infatuation being called love. I've been at nearly every angle of this bit of happenstance. It's just sad in the end no matter who's right in this case most likely they're all correct but it's such a shallow and fickle emotion that it doesn't matter. The only truth here is that it certainly wasn't worth dieing for. 😢

Even further back is what I sort of believe is what their mind's eye was focusing on. How we use agriculture worries some of us. What we grow and then completely destroy during harvest means the plant's roots do not go deep or spread. The dust bowl was just one type of consequence. Are we also using so much fertilizer to make for such shallow roots? The Haber process isn't the friendliest thing for the atmosphere.

Bravo, what an exceptional listen that was... Tony you outdid yourself narrating this astounding & moving story.... It made me long for the lost language so rich & so emotive, that we no longer embrace or grace with our glib mouths... As a writer (poetry & song) I found myself lifted & tossed & swept like a leaf in a punishing & also soothing Autumn wind. It felt like a work of art to me & whilst the subject was not really the point for me (as you say "what is that about though?" The beauty of the language & depth of soul searching, meaning mining kept me enthralled - heh, a little intellectual "tripping" carried on your extremely worthy voicing. I do wonder if you underestimate your talent as a narrator... I am hoping that I will get back on my feet financially so I might be able to well reward you financially for your skill & generosity. I might add my perspective re the "widowed daughter", I think it adds another layer of understanding the character's wisdom & depth of understanding (having lost a partner, it rang so clear & true), I did love this... It really was like experiencing the story as a series of artworks (I am also a painter sculptor so another perspective).... Also as a Buddhist, please just ignore that troll guy, don't look into it... save your time soaking up the praise of we, who appreciate you .

It is my understanding that Freud was at this time more prominent prior to Jung, who basically stated everything was based on your attraction/repulsion of your opposite parent reflected as a “tortured affair” one needs to dissolve in order to truly integrate as an individual. Jung broke from Freud by expanding on his theories pushing the sexualized ego identity into a dual spectrum- Anima/Animus, as opposed to Mother/Father obsession/compulsion motivation, in that each person has BOTH anima & animus BUT as through cultural conditioning & environment the biological sexual reproductive system you were born with tended then (and still somewhat now) to be most strongly integrated into one’s personality, Jung felt that discovery into the opposite components of the WHOLE SELF would be best achieved at looking: female<=>animus & male<=>anima; because that would be the “shadow” side that needed enlightenment for a person to be fully realized. One reason Jung abstracted the shadow out into a classified opposite was because he didn’t believe all one’s individual issues were issues solely based on one’s parents, for when that might be true within the early years of human growth development, limiting one’s ego/conscious/sub-conscious directly to one’s opposite parent based on pre-norm sexual ideas was regressive; Jung branches out with the SUPER-conscious as well, which implies he was looking forward towards a the ultimate INTEGRATION of the INDIVIDUAL, the SUBCONSCIOUS, & the SUPERCONSCIOUS- the last two which are less of the individual & more of a SPIRITUAL CONNECTION to HUMANITY AS A WHOLE. I think Jung was looking for a society of personally individuated individuals who would RAISE the WHOLE HUMAN EXPERIENCE into GREATER WELL-BEING. So, to bring this back to your question from a queer member of your audience, albeit not a gay male from the late 19th century, I do believe the author is playing within the UNIVERSAL ARCHETYPAL SYMBOLISMs to speak to the universal feeling of having your heart wrenched out from you & the deep sorrow that can emotionally code (weave) every relationship after that deep loss. The trick is to fully grieve the loss & learn to realize every relationship is a NEW JOURNEY. The more you integrate your ego identity with your subconscious, shadow side of YOUR experiential components, & those deeper SUPER-CONSCIOUS COLLECTIVE drivers the better your personal “computer” will be able to function. The goal being a highly functioning individual who doesn’t use old programming for their “cutting edge” [re: well integrated] self. This story is GREAT BECAUSE ANYONE CAN RELATE to the underlining issues. For some reason I thought you had asked for it, so I’ve obliged. I find MYTH/ARCHETYPES/Folktales FASCINATING!
